The Explore Program is a psycho-educational short-term intervention for family violence offenders in the Windham Judicial District. The sessions are held in Dayville and Columbia.

Referrals are made by Court personnel (probation officers, CSSD staff and Family Support staff).

The goals of the program are to hold family violence offenders accountable for their criminal behavior, to ensure greater safety for victims and for participants to stop violent behaviors, to make non-violent choices and to enhance their interpersonal skills.

The twenty-six week program meets weekly and the classes are one and a half hours.  The Explore Curriculum includes check-ins, didactic sessions, homework, group discussions, videos, humor, self-discovery, diaries and role-playing.

Culturally competent services are available to Latino referrals.

Eligibility: Court-ordered domestic violence offenders.

Funded by Court Support Services Division, State of Connecticut Judicial Branch.
