The Parent Aide and Parent Education and Assessment Services (PEAS) Programs provide home based case management, parenting education and support services to families throughout the 21-town service area. Staff Caseworkers help parents improve family functioning and increase child health and safety. Home visits by Caseworkers help parents build and strengthen skills through parenting education, role modeling, family advocacy, support and guidance.
Home visits and the level of services provided are based on assessments of the individual needs of each family. The Parent Aide Program provides one home visit per week and PEAS is two home visits per week and is considered a more intensive level of service. A Child and Family Action Plan is developed between the Family, DCF and program staff with clear identifiable goals and objectives.
Participation in the program is voluntary and services are free of charge to the family.
Services are available in English and Spanish.
