Adult Services
Trained clinicians provide emergency mental health services to adults in crisis by:

in person in an office setting

in the Windham Community Memorial Hospital Emergency Room or in homes and community settings
United Services’ Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services Team is available to assist adults in crisis throughout Northeastern Connecticut. Ranging from situations involving severe depression, suicidal tendency or other critical mental health issues to matters involving support for anxiety or a need for a medication refill, United Services emergency clinicians provide vital community support.
Eligibility: Adults, 18 or older, in psychiatric crisis throughout Windham County, as well as Eastern Tolland County and Northern New London County, Connecticut.
Funding is provided by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, insurance, client fees, and contracts with Windham Community Memorial Hospital.
Children’s Services
Children's emergency referrals may be regarding:
- a behavioral problem
- school issues
- a parent-child conflict
Referrals come from parents, schools, other providers or the Department of Children and Families. Concerns can range from a child's social withdrawal, suicide threat, running away or abuse situations.
Callers may also request information regarding resources for available services.
Eligibility: Children, ages 0-18 in Windham and Eastern Tolland County in psychiatric crisis.
Funding is provided by the Department of Children and Families.
