Wayside Adolescents in Crisis Program
The Wayside Adolescents in Crisis Program provides crisis intervention and crisis foster care services to adolescents, age 11-18. Crisis intervention services are available for non-psychiatric emergencies including runaway and homeless youth, family conflict, parent-child conflict, truancy and school related issues. Brief crisis foster care is available for adolescent females in a four-bed crisis foster home should respite be required, or if there is a need for shelter while more permanent arrangements are being made.
Services offered by the program include:
- Crisis Intervention
- Case management
- Referral
- Counseling (non-clinical)
- Temporary shelter
Eligibility: Youth ages 11-18 and their families who reside in the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Eastern Region. Crisis foster care services are available for females through the Wayside Foster Home and for males by referral to other shelter facilities. Referrals are accepted from DCF, schools, health agencies, police, parents, community members, social service providers and from youth directly.
Funded by the Department of Children and Families and the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
