Social Rehabilitation Services
The Social Rehabilitation Program helps adults recovering from severe and prolonged psychiatric illness deal with the following social/personal adjustment problems:
- Lack of skills necessary to establish and maintain daily activity schedules
- Inability to learn or utilize basic social skills necessary for developing effective community, friendship and family relationships.
- Lack of interest in personal welfare which can result in isolation, health issues and rejection by significant others.
The Lighthouse and Welcome Arms are member-governed clubhouses where staff helps members with the skills they need for self-sufficiency in the community. Evening and weekend activities center around social events where members can be among friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
Eligibility: Meets eligibility criteria of severe and prolonged mental illness as defined by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Funding is provided by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
