Vocational Rehabilitation Services

The Vocational Services component helps adults recovering from severe and prolonged psychiatric illness, deal with the following social/personal adjustment problems:

  • Lack of successful employment experiences because of psychiatric disabilities and or hospitalization.

  • Lack of basic vocational skills and work habits needed to accomplish career goals because of the effects of psychiatric disability or vocational development.
  • The staff of Career Options works in partnership with local employers to help them find the employees they need. Staff work with clients to improve not only the vocational skills necessary for employment but also the social skills necessary for them to interview well and land and keep a job.

Eligibility: Meets eligibility criteria of severe and prolonged mental illness as defined by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Funding is provided by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
