Community Living Counselor – Milner House Group Home

Description:

Join the dedicated team of professionals at our treatment facility in Moosup, CT, located at Milner House, a licensed adult group home. Milner House helps adults gain stability and develop skills to live independently.

Work as part of a team providing individual support and group counseling in an 8 bed residential setting. It serves individuals with severe and prolonged mental illness. The facility provides 24-hour coverage on three awake-shifts and is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Work includes assisting and teaching individuals in adult daily living skills and social and emotional skill development. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to transport clients in their own car are required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Medication monitoring
  • Client transportation
  • Assist clients in addressing basic needs, including medical and psychiatric needs
  • Prepare and facilitate educational and skill-building groups and one-to-one interventions as directed by the treatment plan
  • Assist in the preparation of meals
  • Counseling
  • Coordinate care with providers and families as needed
  • Documentation
  • House cleaning

Schedule:

Sunday – Monday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (16 hours) 1st Shift

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant human services field.

Salary Range:

$19.00 – $21.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Bilingual (Spanish/English) rate of pay: $19.96 – $22.59 per hour (based on experience)
