Seeking Per Diem Residential Counselors to work in a team environment providing a diverse array of services. Programs:

Young Adult Services – Transitional Living House (Willimantic)

Young Adult Services Program provides a diverse array of services including clinical, case management, vocational, recreational, transitional living and housing services for young adults, ages 18-25, who have a diagnosed mental illness and are in need of community-based support services in the Willimantic area.  This position will provide individual support and group counseling in a transitional living setting.

Milner House – Transitional Living Program (Moosup)

Milner House is a licensed Transitional Living Program in Moosup, Connecticut. Working with our adults in mental health recovery to return to living independently.  Work as part of a team providing individual support and group counseling in a residential setting. Milner House is a 14-bed intensively staffed transitional living facility. It serves people with severe and prolonged mental illness. The facility provides 24-hour coverage on three awake-shifts and is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Work includes assisting and teaching persons-served in adult daily living skills and social and emotional skill development. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to transport persons-served in own car is required.

Responsibilities include (both YAS and Milner):

  • Medication monitoring
  • Person-served transportation
  • Assists persons-served in addressing medical and psychiatric needs
  • Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan
  • Assist in the preparation of meals
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Crisis intervention and risk assessment
  • Function as part of a team in support of person-served services
  • Coordinate care with providers and families as needed
  • Documentation
  • House cleaning

Domestic Violence Program (DVP)

Domestic Violence Program: DVP offers services to anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse and provides a diverse array of services including 24/7 emergency shelter, court advocacy assistance, referral and information services, support groups and counseling, case management, recreation, bilingual staff, educational programs for schools and training for professionals throughout Northeastern Connecticut.

Responsibilities include (DVP):

  • Person-served transportation
  • Assists persons-served in addressing medical and psychiatric needs
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Advocacy
  • Case management
  • Safety planning, crisis intervention and risk assessment
  • Function as part of a team in support of person-served services
  • Coordinate care with providers as needed
  • Documentation
  • House cleaning
Schedule:

Opportunities are available to work all shifts – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, including weekends and holidays

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related human services field or a High School Diploma plus two years of experience working in the mental health field.

Comprehensive training provided for all positions.

Salary Range:

$20.00 per hour
