What You Will Do (Day-to-Day):

  • Represent your Local Prevention Council at monthly youth advisory meetings
  • Participate in prevention coalitions and community activities
  • Engage peers in conversations about wellness and healthy decision-making
  • Help create media campaigns for youth and parents
  • Support community outreach and prevention initiatives
  • Collaborate with youth, community leaders, and prevention professionals

Schedule: 5- 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule based on program needs.

Hourly Rate: $16.94 (Minimum Wage)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be between the ages of 16-24
  • Must currently be a high school or college student and live, work or be familiar with communities served by United Services, Inc.
  • Have an interest in youth substance use prevention, community advocacy, and promoting mental health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to engage peers in conversations about substance use and wellness
  • Be momfortable with public speaking and community engagement activities
  • Ability to work effectively with community members and diverse populations

Youth Peer Advocate Schedule: 5 hours per week- up to 20 hours per week, flexible schedule

Work Location: This position requires employees to be fully present in the office and in the community.

This position is not eligible for benefits.

Important Employment Requirement:
