Peer Support
Hope Begins with Someone Who Understands
Explore All Services
Our Peer Support Specialists use their own lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to help others find hope, navigate services, and build confidence on their own recovery journey. All of our Peers are Certified Peer Support & Recovery Professionals (CPRSP).
What Is Peer Support?
Peer Support is built on connection, understanding, and hope. Our Certified Peer Support Specialists have experienced their own recovery journey and are specially trained to use those experiences to support others facing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, or life transitions.
They meet people where they are—with compassion, respect, and without judgment. Whether you’re looking for encouragement, information, or simply someone who understands, our Peer Support team is here to walk beside you.
Breaking Down Barriers
Asking for help isn’t always easy.
Many people wonder:
“Do I really need help?”
“Will anyone understand?”
“Where do I even start?”
Peer Support Specialists help remove those barriers by offering a welcoming first connection.
They listen.
They encourage.
They answer questions.
Most importantly, they remind people that recovery is possible.
The Warm Hand-Off
One of the unique strengths of Peer Support is what we call the Friendly Hand-Off. Rather than simply referring someone to another program or giving them a phone number to call, Peer Support Specialists help bridge the gap.
They may:
- Introduce you to your therapist
- Walk with you to another department
- Help complete paperwork
- Explain what to expect
- Connect you with housing, employment, or community resources
- Follow up after appointments
These supportive transitions reduce anxiety and make it easier to stay engaged in care.
Walk In and Talk With Someone
Sometimes you don’t need an appointment. You just need someone to talk to.
Our Peer Support Specialists are available for informal conversations in a welcoming environment.
No pressure.
No judgment.
Just connection.
Whether you’re exploring recovery for yourself or supporting someone you care about, we’re here to help.
Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all.
For some, recovery means managing anxiety or depression. For others, it means overcoming addiction, finding stable housing, reconnecting with family, returning to work, or simply discovering hope again.
Whatever recovery means to you, we’ll meet you where you are.
