United Services is seeking a Full-time Youth Services Specialist to work under the direction of the Program Manager and serve as the TOP Assistant Facilitator. Our Youth Services Specialist supports the TOP program and provides engaging, pro-social activities that promote social-emotional growth, while also serving as a Youth Services Bureau Case Manager supporting youth referred for truancy and school behavior concerns.

What You Will Do: (Day-to-Day):

  • TOP Assistant Facilitator: Assist with the facilitation of TOP as well as collaborating with the TOP Facilitator on planning of lessons and community service learning projects.
  • Coordinate Groups/Clubs: Coordinates youth clubs and group activities by planning, organizing, and facilitating engaging experiences.
  • Build Connections: Represents the organization at school open houses and community events to promote programs, build relationships, and connect youth and families with available services.

What You Bring (Must-Haves):

  • An understanding of positive youth development principles and effective group facilitation techniques.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $19.00- $21.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Spanish/English fluency :$19.96-$22.59 per hour (depending on experience)

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree plus two years relevant experience.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required
  • Experience working with youth and adolescents in a group setting perfered
  • An understanding of positive youth development principles and effective group facilitation techniques preferred

Work Location: Because our clients rely on face-to-face support to build trust, this position requires employees to be fully present in the office and the community.

*Position located in Wauregan and within Killingly Public Schools
