Looking for a dynamic Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Behavioral Health Home team. The Behavioral Health Home (BHH) is an innovative, integrated health care service delivery model that integrates behavioral health care with medical care for children and adults with serious mental health issues who also have serious chronic health conditions. Through an array of services the goal is to increase access to care, improve the experience of care, and to reduce unnecessary emergency and inpatient care while improving health outcomes.

Critical functions of the job include assisting in follow up with medical care, promoting involvement with wellness and health promotion activities, including self-help, and modeling successful recovery strategies.

What You Will Do (Day-to-Day):
- Share your lived experience and recovery journey to inspire hope and support others in their recovery.
- Assist individuals in identifying and achieving person-driven, self-defined goals.
- Support coordination and follow-up with medical care and other health-related services.
- Promote wellness, self-care, and health promotion activities.
- Encourage participation in self-help and recovery-oriented supports.
- Model successful recovery strategies and healthy coping skills.
- Collaborate with Behavioral Health Home team members to support integrated care plans.
- Help individuals navigate services and overcome barriers to achieving improved health outcomes.
Schedule: This is a full-time position with regular hours of Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Requirements: Associates Degree or High School Diploma/equivalent plus two years relevant experience required.
Certification: Recovery Support Specialist or Recovery Coach from a DMHAS Approved Training Organization
We accept certifications through Advocacy Unlimited (AU) Hartford Healthcare-Recovery Leadership Academy (HHC-RLA) or Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR)
*Must be able to obtain Peer Support and Recovery Specialist Recovery Specialist Certification within one year of employment.
Reliable transportation and ability to transport clients in own car is a must. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Salary Range: $17.27 – $19.54 per hour (depending on experience)
Spanish/English Fluency: $18.14-$20.53 per hour (depending on experience)
Work Location: Because our clients rely on face-to-face support to build trust, this position requires employees to be fully present in the office and community.
